El artículo aborda el análisis de la instalación <i>The Last Century</i> (2005), de Sam Taylor Wood asumiéndola a la vez como caso particular de cruce entre la imagen plástica, fotográfica y cinematográfica y como dispositivo que propone y habilita una experiencia sensible y una reflexión en torno a las categorías de tiempo y movilidad en el arte visual contemporáneo. Los presupuestos y definiciones convencionales acerca del cine y la fotografía, en particular, -«esas dos grandes epistemes que prevalecen en la historia de las imágenes tecnocientíficas»- se ven rebasados, desafiados y evidenciados como insuficientes a partir de la estrategia híbrida y paradojal que pone en juego esta obra, interpelando al espectador y, de modo retroactivo, desde una instancia de producción digital, a la historia de las imágenes técnicas que la preceden.The article addresses the analysis of <i>The Last Century</i> (2005), the installation made by Sam Taylor Wood, assuming it at the same time as a particular case of intersection between the plastic, photographic an cinematographic image, and as a device that proposes and enables a sensitive experience and reflection on the categories of time an mobility in contemporary visual art. Conventional assumptions about films and photography, in particular —those two great epistemes that prevail in the history of techno-scientific images— are overstepped, challenged and evidenced as insufficiente from the hybrid and paradoxical strategy that grings this work into play, challenging the views and, retroactively, from an instance of digital production, to the history of the technical images that precede it.Facultad de Artes
