Pharmaceutical industry generates large amounts of waste and waste, and they are not regularly followed up by the generators; Venezuelan environmental legislation establishes parameters that must be met so that the disposition of them is done in order to avoid impacts on health and the environment. The objective of this research was to evaluate a plan for the management of waste and waste generated in a pharmaceutical laboratory. The methodology was applied, field, projective type. It was developed in several stages, starting with a diagnosis, which allowed to determine the amount and type of solid waste generated and the disposition of organic solvent waste generated in the quality control area; then a waste and waste management plan for the pharmaceutical laboratory was developed and proposed; finally, an area was selected to implement and evaluate the plan, obtaining favorable results, demonstrating the interest of change on the part of the personnel to carry out activities that mitigate the negative environmental impact.La industria farmacéutica genera grandes cantidades de residuos y desechos, y regularmente no llevan un seguimiento por parte de las empresas generadoras; la legislación ambiental venezolana establece parámetros que deben cumplirse para que la disposición de los mismos se realice de manera de evitar impactos a la salud y al ambiente. El objetivo de esta investigación fue evaluar un plan para el manejo de residuos y desechos generados en un laboratorio farmacéutico. La metodología fue aplicada, de campo, tipo proyectiva. Se desarrolló en varias etapas, iniciándose con un diagnóstico, que permitió determinar la cantidad y tipo de residuos sólidos generados y la disposición de los desechos de solventes orgánicos generados en el área de control de calidad; luego se desarrolló y propuso un plan de manejo de residuos y desechos para el laboratorio farmacéutico; por último se seleccionó un área para implementar y evaluar el plan, obteniendo resultados favorables, demostrando el interés de cambio por parte del personal a realizar actividades que mitiguen el impacto ambiental negativo.
