José Gushiken portrays the life of the exceptional violinist Máximo Damián Huamaní, a native of San Diego de Isua, in the Lucanas province of the department of Ayacucho. The musician narrates from his childhood in his hometown to his life as a migrant in Lima in the 1960s, where he faces discrimination against his Quechua language in the workplace. However, his ability and dexterity with the violin positions him on the cultural scene, thanks to the appreciation and dissemination that José María Arguedas makes of his musical work. Asimismo el testimonio de Máximo Damián muestra la violencia que ha configurado el mundo mestizo y que se manifiestan en las humillaciones y angustias que sufren cuando son arrojados a la capital.
