The publication brings together the studies of various specialists, who have collaborated proposing suggestive themes, such as a choreography of the city of Arequipa by the priest Ventura Trabada y Córdoba; the incorporation of the Amazon in literature by the self-styled "Cantor de América", José Santos Chocano; the vision of the world in viceregal America; realistic militarism in Peru; republican governance in Chile and Ecuador; the unique representation of the Bolivian east; the contributions of the Lima press on "subaltern" populations; the formation of documentary collections by some Americanists with intercultural insights; the iconographic and textual images of Peru; and the confrontation of otherness based on exogenous views such as that of Voltaire, the author of a pseudo-Inca tragedy, or that of the Spanish-French soldier José de Canterac.en-US
