dc.descriptionThis publication is an analysis of the economic and administrative behavior of the Jesuit haciendas, whose main source is the documentation generated by the expulsion of the order (1767) and the creole independence (1821-1824). The author describes cultivation techniques, work systems, types of peasant settlement, slave labor, commercialization of agricultural products, among other aspects of the internal regime. It also studies the dynamics of the sugar plantations of Turnan, Pachachaca, El Ingenio de Huaura, Aguacollay, San Jacinto, Santa Beatriz, Chancay and Huaura and San José de La Pampa. The texts reviewed by the researcher are: the instructions and memorials that were given to the administrators of the haciendas; the primers written by the Jesuits by order of Viceroy Amat to serve as a guide to those who succeeded them in the administration of the estates; the documentation of the «Treasury accounts and titles» section of the temporary funds of the National Archive of Peru; among others.en-US
dc.descriptionEsta publicación es un análisis del comportamiento económico y administrativo de las haciendas jesuitas, cuya principal fuente es la documentación generada por la expulsión de la orden (1767) y la independencia criolla (1821-1824). El autor describe las técnicas de cultivo, los sistemas de trabajo, los tipos de asentamiento campesino, el trabajo de esclavos, la comercialización de los productos agrícolas, entre otros aspectos de régimen interno. Estudia, asimismo, la dinámica de las haciendas de caña de Turnan, Pachachaca, El Ingenio de Huaura, Aguacollay, San Jacinto, Santa Beatriz, Chancay y Huaura y San José de La Pampa. Los textos revisados por el investigador son: las instrucciones y memoriales que se impartían a los administradores de las haciendas; las cartillas redactas por los jesuitas por orden del virrey Amat para que sirvieran de guía a quienes les sucedieran en la administración de las fincas; la documentación de la sección de «Cuentas y títulos de hacienda» de los fondos de temporalidades del Archivo Nacional del Perú; entre otros.es-ES
