dc.descriptionThe following text aims to show that the cartoons made by the press close to the government of Sebastián Lerdo de Tejada were part of a political strategy to defend the administration and respond to the opposition. They entered a debate on the pages of the newspapers to counteract criticism of the cabinet and fought back by appealing to their government attachment and the im­possibility of reply on the part of the president for the sake of freedom of the press. Finally a struggle between factions was manifested, but the opposition, led by Porfirian group, carried more weight. Political History is part of the conceptual framework of this research, in addition the proposal is interesting for the study of this administration in the most relevant environment during the liberal era. en-US
dc.descriptionEl siguiente texto pretende demostrar que las caricaturas realizadas por la prensa cercana al gobierno de Sebastián Lerdo de Tejada fueron parte de una estrategia política para defender a la administración y dar respuesta a la oposi­ción. Entraron en un debate en las páginas de los periódicos para contrarrestar las críticas hacia el gabinete y dieron batalla apelando a su apego constitu­cional y a la imposibilidad de réplica por parte del presidente en aras de la libertad de prensa. Finalmente, se manifestó una lucha entre facciones, pero la oposición, encabezada por el grupo porfirista, tuvo más peso. La Historia Política es parte del marco conceptual de esta investigación, además la pro­puesta resulta interesante para el estudio de esta administración en el medio de mayor relevancia durante la época liberal.es-ES
