dc.descriptionIn this article, an analytical account of the historical development of contem­porary Mexico is carried out considering the electoral reforms enacted during the second half of the 20th century (which serve as pertinent sources to assess the transformations of the Mexican State, from the emergence and consoli­dation of the post-revolutionary authoritarian regime —characterized by the hegemony of the official party— to its exhaustion and the subsequent demo­cratic transition). As a hypothesis, it is argued that both the social movements of the period and the decline of the development model of the central decades of the past century and the establishment of neoliberalism and its socioecono­mic effects had a decisive influence on this transition.en-US
dc.descriptionEn el presente artículo se lleva a cabo un recuento analítico del devenir del México contemporáneo, a la luz de las reformas electorales promulgadas du­rante la segunda mitad del siglo xx (las cuales fungen como fuentes per­tinentes para aquilatar las transformaciones del Estado mexicano, desde el surgimiento y consolidación del régimen autoritario posrevolucionario —ca­racterizado por la hegemonía del partido oficial— hasta su agotamiento y la posterior transición democrática). Como hipótesis, se sostiene que en dicha transición incidieron decisivamente tanto los movimientos sociales del perio­do como el declive del modelo de desarrollo de las décadas centrales de la centuria pasada y la instauración del neoliberalismo y sus efectos socioeco­nómicos.es-ES
