dc.descriptionSilvio Frondizi was a Marxist intellectual, a forerunner of the Argentine and Latin American “new left”. His theory of “world capitalist integration”, his analyzes of the nature of Latin American social formations and his convic­tion that the socialist revolution was the only way for the development and independence of the region, confronted him with the hegemonic analyzes that were coming. making the lefts of the early 1950s and led him to commit himself directly to the revolutionary movement that emerged in the 1960s and 1970s. Su teoría de la “integración mundial capitalista”, sus análisis sobre la naturaleza de las formaciones sociales latinoamericanas y su convicción de que la revolución socialista era la única vía para el desar­rollo y la independencia de la región, lo enfrentaron a los análisis hegemóni­cos realizados por las izquierdas de principios de los años 50, y lo llevaron a comprometerse directamente con el movimiento revolucionario surgido en las décadas de los 60 y 70. En este artículo nos proponemos realizar un repaso por sus aportes teóricos fundamentales —concentrándonos en sus análisis del caso argentino— y por su itinerario militante, tanto en su papel de fundador del Movimiento de Izquierda Revolucionaria (mir-Praxis) como en su víncu­lo posterior con una de las organizaciones guerrilleras más importantes de la Argentina: el Partido Revolucionario de los Trabajadores-Ejército Revolucio­nario del Pueblo (prt-erp).es-ES
