dc.descriptionThe purpose of this research is to analyze the relationship between the collective imagery of the social bandit Jesús Malverde and the gratitude practices in his chapel, in Culiacán. Through the analysis of the pictorial votive offerings, metal plates and other presents that represent the miracles granted, the guidelines of popular religiosity around the saint are studied. This research shows that the persistence of the imaginary of the social bandit and the practice of a popular religiosity without restrictions make the Malverde chapel a place where votive offerings are posted that not only speak of the family, health and daily life of their donors, but the challenge to authority and life on the margins of society.en-US
dc.descriptionEl propósito de esta investigación es analizar la relación entre el imaginario colectivo del bandido social Jesús Malverde y las prácticas de agradecimiento en su capilla, en Culia­cán. A través del análisis de los exvotos pictóricos, placas de metal y otros presentes que representan los milagros concedidos, se estudian las pautas de la religiosidad popular en torno al santo. En esta investigación se demuestra que la persistencia del imaginario del bandido social y la práctica de una religiosidad popular sin restricciones convierten la ca­pilla de Malverde en un lugar límite donde se cuelgan exvotos que no sólo hablan de la familia, la salud y cotidianeidad de sus donantes, sino del desafío a la autoridad y la vida en los márgenes de la sociedad.es-ES
