dc.descriptionThis article analyzes the policy thinking of Federico Gamboa (author of Santa) and Gustavo Sáenz de Sicilia (owner of the company that produced the second film adaptation of the novel in 1931) in order to contribute new elements that contribute to the exegesis of the movie. Gamboa and Sáenz were forerunners of fascism in Mexico, an aspect that influenced their intellectual and political work in the 1920s. By exploring their ideas and links, is examined the hypothesis that the Santa of 1931 exposes some approaches of fascist doctrine, which had not been considered as part of his discourse and which would allow a better understanding of its historical significance.en-US
dc.descriptionEste artículo analiza el pensamiento político de Federico Gamboa (autor de Santa) y Gus­tavo Sáenz de Sicilia (dueño de la compañía que produjo la segunda adaptación cinema­tográfica de la novela en 1931) con el fin de aportar nuevos elementos que contribuyan a la exégesis de la película. Gamboa y Sáenz fueron precursores del fascismo en México, aspecto que incidió en su labor intelectual y política en la década de 1920. Mediante la ex­ploración de sus ideas y vínculos, se examina la hipótesis de que la Santa de 1931 expo­ne algunos planteamientos de la doctrina fascista, los cuales no habían sido considerados como parte de su discurso y que permitirían comprender mejor su significación histórica.es-ES
