dc.descriptionThis article aims to expose and reflect on the first phase of secularization in Sinaloa bet­ween 1855 and 1861, a period of greater tension in Church and State relations during the nineteenth century, in order to understand the peculiarities of the region in relation to the national dynamics in the process of constitution of the modern political regime in Mexi­co. From printed, civil and parochial documents it has been possible to recognize the atti­tude of diverse actors involved in the political contest, among these, the position of civil society from Sinaloa that played a role of conciliation rather than rivalry, without having had to renounce his reformist convictions.en-US
dc.descriptionEste artículo tiene como objetivo exponer y reflexionar sobre la primera fase de la secula­rización en Sinaloa entre los años 1855 y 1861, periodo de mayor tensión en las relacio­nes Iglesia y Estado durante el siglo XIX, a modo de comprender las peculiaridades de la región en relación a la dinámica nacional en el proceso de constitución del régimen polí­tico moderno en México. A partir de documentos impresos, civiles y parroquiales ha sido posible reconocer la actitud de diversos actores involucrados en la contienda política, en­tre estos, la postura de la sociedad civil sinaloense que jugó un rol de conciliación más que de rivalidad, sin por ello haber tenido que renunciar a sus convicciones reformistas.es-ES
