In this paper we stratified the territory of the Granma province in terms of establishing an order of priority in the regions that need it in the fight against Orf. Which were used for the statistical basis of the Provincial Institute of Veterinary Medicine (Vigilance Department), taking the number of reported outbreaks in 2000-2009, this indicator is a discrete variable. Developed a procedure consisting of seven steps, based on the Poisson probability distribution. In the first four checks if the series takes place at random or not, in the remaining areas are classified into: low frequency, medium and high, determining their limits through the values of quartiles and minimum and maximum numbers. The series evaluated not randomly distributed. It ranked 11, 9 and 4 areas respectively, according to the name question, a thematic map was prepared for presentation and display. The procedure developed allows stratify and identify geographic areas based on the relative homogeneity of the average frequency of new outbreaks, which allows improving epidemiological vigilance and control of contagious ecthyma, although it is possible to study its extension to other pathologies.
