dc.description.abstract | RESUMEN:
ABSTRACT:
Today organizations, mainly in the production area, the needs to improve
performance and production have increased, to a point in which a strong demand
has been created, both of technical proposals, and of more qualified personnel,
innovative and open to generate competitiveness. This is the base of the presented
problems.
This is why new modern paradigms have arisen for the production systems,
by which the organizations look forward to stay ahead of their competitors,
especially because of great changes that industry has gone through, in every
aspect, both in our country and the whole world.
One of the paradigms of major success of acceptance is the one called
Lean Manufacturing that originated with the “Just in time” Toyota ́s production
system (1970) which is based in two basic ideas: waste elimination and the
evaluation of the human factor. Throughout its evolution there have being several
technics and methods developed to focus on each possible area of improvement.
Due to globalization it is necessary to keep an open minded attitude towards
new perspectives, therefore research is necessary to keep on being successful in
all fronts; individually and in the organization both national and world wide.
After having run simulations using ProModelTM software and using the Lean
Manufacturing method in a metal-mechanic industry company that produces
aluminum ladders, waste problems caused by production using the traditional
paradigm were detected and attacked with the Soft Systems method therefore it is
confirmed that the technical component of the solutions commonly used are not
sufficient to obtain the improvement of the productive systems and it is essential to
include the human factor.
By establishing the Lean Manufacturing method after having found the
waste factor, the Soft Systems Methodology is introduced and the differences in
quality are solved in the making of the ladders, also a reduction in preparation time
is improved. Flaws caused by unavailability of raw materials and even idle time are
noticeable decreased. | |
