ABSTRACT
In this thesis a voltaje regulator based in an interval type-2 Fuzzy Logic Controller (IT2 FLC) for the excitación system of a synchronous generator is developed. The design of the fuzzy controller from its architecture is showed. This controller uses triangular and Gaussian interval type-2 fuzzy sets. Two type reduction algorithms were compared, the convectional Karnik- Mendel (KM) and the enhaced Karnik-Mendel (EKM). The results show a better computation time and fewer iterations for the EK_M over the conventional KM. The type-2 fuzzy controller is tuned from the type-1 controller; the difference is the amount of uncertainty in the input fuzzy sets. This tuning methodology considers the evolution of the phase diagram, the performance index and the control surface. | |
