La muerte en la cosmovisión náhuatl prehispánica. Consideraciones heurísticas y epistemológicas

dc.descriptionWritten sources about death in prehispanic nahuatl culture are numerous. However, the catechistic intention that motivated the collecting of information, the transcription of the oral or pictographic tradition somehow detracted the idea of what death could have meant for the Mexica. Basing our analysis on documents in nahuatl, and from what we believe to be a more suitable conceptual perspective, we propose a different approach to the prehispanic nahuatl cosmovision of death, and more specifically to its cosmogony.en-US
dc.descriptionNumerosas son las fuentes escritas que documentan el tema de la muerte en la cultura náhuatl prehispánica. Sin embargo, la intención catequística que motivó la recopilación de la información y la transcripción de los textos de tradición oral o pictográfica sesgaron el sentido que podría haber tenido la muerte en la cosmovisión mexica. Con base en documentos en náhuatl, y mediante nexos conceptuales que nos parecen más adecuados, proponemos una aproximación distinta a la cosmovisión náhuatl prehispánica de la muerte y más específicamente a su cosmogonía.es-ES
