Resumen
The objective of this study is to analyze the determinants of the time allocation of children and adolescents between leisure, study and work, assuming a hypothesis that is a decision of the family whose foundation is the maximization of its benefits in an intertemporal context. From the multinomial logit econometric model, where the marginal effects and simulations of the predicted probabilities are estimated, the influence of the internal and external characteristics of the households on the probability of the children belonging
to the four possible allocation strata of time was verified. In summary, the estimates showed that black male children from female-headed households in rural and unoccupied households were more likely to engage in some work activity at the expense of the study. When in comes to the influence of per capita household income structure, unlike studies that indicate poverty as a preponderant factor of child labor, it was verified that it is a probability of children and adolescents only working or reconciling work with the study is higher among the sixth and eighth tenths of the distribution. This behavior was more intense in rural areas and in low population
density urban areas
