Resumen
Concepts and techniques of information management and the Jesuit principles are analyzed
to support the decision-making processes in the schools of the Society of Jesus in Brazil. A conceptual foundation of information management concepts and decision-making methods. It assumes that one
of the major difficulties for the decision-making process is that information for the choice, given the
decision as a choice, is not always available or accessible in an organized way. It presents the concepts
and principles of the Society of Jesus as a company based on decision-making. The four principles for
decision making in the Society of Jesus are considered such as heroism, ingenuity, love and selfknowledge. These principles guided the development of ten competencies in three groups: the Way
of Being, the Way of Proceeding and the Mode of Examination. It develops a study based on the
Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) model, a multicriteria method for make decision. The method
evaluates the relative importance of these criteria, compares the alternatives for each criterion and
determines a total ranking of the alternatives. The results point out that these criteria and the qualities
of the managers must be developed and strengthened in order to respond to the challenges and
objectives of schools in the world, in Latin America and in Brazil in particular Society of Jesus.
