The use of new technologies in language teaching has proved to be a promising field for the development of the language skills of students who do not have time or space to attend to traditional classes. Therefore, many researchers in the field have been promoting the inclusion of new technologies in education in general and in teaching languages, especially English. Although many studies have already been conducted in order to uncover the advantages and disadvantages of this type of education from the student’s point of view, the perspective of teachers has not frequently been addressed in these studies. This paper aims to discuss the problems and anxieties faced by English teachers in trying to deal with new technologies in teaching and to reflect on the role of teacher education in this context.
