Resumen
The contemporary world is characterized by a intricacy interdependent relations that fold not only national governments but, also, sub-national governments, multinational corporations, non-government organizations and international organizations, among others. This has been producing emerging phenomena difficult of be analyzed by the theories and traditional methods of the International Politics. To answer to these events, a new paradigm has been receiving attention on the part of some scholars. It is known by complexity, that interprets arrangements, as the one of the International Politics, as complex systems. A central form of these systems is the complex adaptive systems, constituted by adaptive and intelligent agents that establish interactions amongst themselves, in a certain place and under a group of rules. Due to their properties and mechanisms, such as nonlinearity, aggregation and internal models, the deductive traditional methods are not shown enough to treat such systems. Then, computational simulations of agent-based modeling have been used to analyze the phenomena of the International Politics.
