Resumen
Cartographic documents about Minas Gerais are historical linguistic memories of great interest to the Onomastics. Objects of this work on the toponomy of Minas Gerais, they were studied: maps from the Brazilian Colonial Period (1720-1808) and the Johannine Period (1808-1821) for the territory of the Province and its Counties, contemporary political-administrative circumscriptions; and geographical features, corresponding to human settlements called towns, villages and others native villages and population. These were arranged in a diachronic database aiming at the production of an digital atlas. Data analysis aimed, in turn, define the main motivators standards in the act of denomination, the dialectal layers present in the language and the permanence of those in the current toponomy. The achievement of these objectives and the consideration of research products have required and provided procedures for: the technical cartographic, geographic and bibliographic treatment of documents, facilitated by the use of digital applications; and the publication of products in electronic media, with an interactive digital signage display as support, in a museum environment.
