Abstract
The scientific community, over time, has been using various means
dissemination of research results in the various areas of knowledge,
To this end, science uses a valuable communication tool:
scientific magazines. These means of communication are divided into two types:
main and alternating current. One of the main characteristics that makes them
differentiate one from the other is that mainstream magazines
They are indexed on the Web of Science (WOS) and Scimago platforms.
Journal & Country Rank (SJR) internationally, as opposed to regionally
that are only found in national databases or academic production.
In this way, more and more researchers seek to publish in journals that
provide greater visibility and impact to your articles. However, the
integration of articles by researchers from Latin America integrated into
Scopus and Wos is proportionally low when compared to other countries in the
world, which makes the vast majority of Latin American countries
consumers of knowledge and not producers of it.
There are determining factors of scientific productivity in countries whose
effects vary in different disciplines; scientific production in science
have a common structure of linguistic, economic, social, and cultural determinants.

researchers, level of training, policies in CTeI, among others. exist
different indicators that provide us with an overview of the scientific activity of
a community, its citation dynamics, the impact factor, the index of
immediacy, the influence of magazines, the relationships that are established: co-
references, co-citations, analysis of scientific collaboration, among others.
We can say that the analysis of the scientific reality of the countries, of the
institutions, groups and researchers in particular, helps us to take
political decisions to encourage the production of new knowledge of high
impact, a fundamental element in the social and economic transformation of a
country.
Next, the analysis of the production of articles integrated in
mainstream journals by authors with institutional affiliation to the
Santo Tomás University, in which an important growth of the
academic production particularly in Web of Science (WoS), the base of
data with the greatest impact worldwide. Likewise, an increase in
the use of academic production with a significant increase in the number
of citations in Scopus and WoS. The document highlights researchers with
most cited institutional affiliation of the University during the period of analysis
(2016-2020).
Finally, we congratulate all the researchers who generate knowledge

to be part of the funding calls for high-impact projects
designed to facilitate and strengthen the publication dynamics in Scopus and Wos.
