people therefore it seeks to describe the relationship between multiple sclerosis and optic neuritis, through a narrative review between 2008 and 2018. Materials and methods: The type of study was a narrative review of the
world literature, in a population between 20 and 50 years old, through analytical obstructive studies. Results: The
incidence of Multiple Sclerosis in patients who are diagnosed with Optic Neuritis is 25.6 per 10,000 inhabitants
compared to an incidence of 0.45 per 10000 inhabitants in healthy and asymptomatic patients, showing that
presenting Optic Neuritis increases the risk in 31 times of generating multiple sclerosis, in addition, as the first
manifestation occurs in up to 82% of cases, and which is the most prevalent primary manifestation as it occurs in
11.24% of cases compared to 6% -8% other manifestations. Conclusions: Optic Neuritis is the most prevalent early
manifestation of Multiple Sclerosis.
