Resumen
Esta investigación trata sobre la Metodología de la Enseñanza del Lenguaje
Comunicativo y el Desempeño Académico en estudiantes de Nivel Básico del Centro de
Idiomas de la Universidad Privada Andina, Cusco, 2016.El propósito de este estudio fue
establecer la relación entre la metodología de enseñanza del Lenguaje Comunicativo y el
desempeño académico en estudiantes de Nivel Básico en el Centro de Idiomas de la
Universidad Privada Andina, Cusco, 2016. Específicamente, el estudio tuvo como objetivo
evaluar la comprensión auditiva de los estudiantes mediante el uso de algunas actividades
comunicativas en el aula. Para lograr los objetivos del estudio se utilizó un método
descriptivo. Los datos fueron recolectados mediante cuestionarios y registro de
calificaciones de 42 estudiantes del primer ciclo. Con base en la información recolectada a
través de los instrumentos anteriores y su análisis e interpretación, los hallazgos del estudio
indicaron que el uso de la metodología comunicativa de la enseñanza se relaciona
significativamente con el desempeño académico de los estudiantes del nivel Básico del
Centro de Idiomas de Andina. Universidad Privada del Cusco, 2016. Es decir que cuanto
mejor sea el uso de la metodología comunicativa de la enseñanza, habrá mayores niveles
de rendimiento académico, además de acuerdo a la correlación de Spearman de 0,675,
representa una correlación media positiva; asimismo, si elevamos r2, obtenemos la
varianza de los factores comunes r2 = 0,456, por lo que hay una varianza compartida del
45,6%. This research is about the Communicative Language Teaching Methodology and
Academic Performance in students of Basic Level at the Language Center of Andina
Private University, Cusco, 2016. The purpose of this study was to establish the relationship
between the Communicative language teaching methodology and academic performance
in students of Basic Level at the Language Center of Andina Private University, Cusco,
2016. Specifically, the study was intended to assess students’ listening comprehension
though the use of some communicative activities in class. In order to achieve the objectives
of the study, a descriptive method was used. The data were collected by means of
questionnaires and score register of 42 students of the first cycle. Based on the information
collected through the above instruments and its analysis and interpretation, the findings of
the study indicated that the use of the communication methodology of teaching is
significantly related to the academic performance of the students of the Basic level of the
Language Center of Andina Private University of Cusco, 2016. That is to say that the
better the use of the communicative methodology of teaching, there will be higher levels of
academic performance, also according to the Spearman correlation of 0,675, it represents a
mean positive correlation; likewise, if we raise r2, we obtain the variance of common
factors r2 = 0,456, therefore there is a shared variance of 45,6%.
