Abstract

El hallux valgus es una deformidad común del pie caracterizada por la subluxación progresiva y la ampliación ósea medial de la primera articulación metatarso falángica, de origen multifactorial, entre las causas tenemos las intrínsecas, extrínsecas, la predisposición genética. Su prevalencia es difícil de determinar, el diagnóstico se da mediante examinación subjetiva, examinación física y estudios radiológicos, el tratamiento se basa en fármacos, quirúrgico, conservador y fisioterapéutico incluyendo la terapia manual, el más efectivo es la combinación de todas ellas.
