Efecto erosivo de los quelantes endodónticos sobre la dentina del conducto radicular Huánuco, 2021

OBJETIVO: Evaluar el efecto erosivo de los quelantes endodónticos sobre la
dentina del conducto radicular Huánuco, 2021.
MATERIALES Y MÉTODOS: Se instrumentaron sesenta conductos
radiculares de incisivos mandibulares y se dividieron aleatoriamente en cuatro
grupos (n = 10) según el irrigante utilizado: EDTA al 17%, ácido cítrico (AC) al
20%, ácido cítrico al 10% y agua destilada (control negativo). Las soluciones
quelantes se utilizaron para irrigar el canal seguido de NaOCl al 2,5% como
enjuague final. Después de los protocolos de irrigación, todas las muestras se
enjuagaron con 10 mL de agua destilada para eliminar cualquier residuo de
las soluciones químicas. Antes y después de los protocolos de irrigación
finales, se midió la microdureza de la dentina con un indentador de Vickers. Se
hicieron tres hendiduras a 100 μm y 400 μm del lumen del conducto
radicular. Se utilizaron las pruebas de ANOVA, post hoc de Bonferroni para
analizar los resultados con un nivel de significancia establecido en 5%.
RESULTADOS: El ácido cítrico al 20% fue el irrigante que causó una erosión
mayor en la dentina radicular, seguida del ácido cítrico al 10% y EDTA al
17%. Todos los irrigantes redujeron significativamente la micridureza
superficial de la dentina radicular. La diferencia de la microdureza de la
dentina radicular después sumergir al EDTA al 17% fue de 9.04±2.75, para el
ácido cítrico al 10%, la media fue 22.2±3.61, y ácido cítrico al 10% fue 11.91
±5.35 se encontró una diferencia significativa en la microdureza de la dentina
antes y después de la exposición (P = 0,000).
CONCLUSIONES: Existe efecto erosivo significativo de los quelantes
endodónticos sobre la dentina del conducto radicular.
