Percepción de fonoaudiólogos del PIE en relación con el uso de baterías de evaluación para el diagnóstico de TEL en la zona sur de Chile

Abstract

Se identificó la percepción de profesionales fonoaudiólogos que trabajan/trabajaban en el Programa de Integración Escolar (PIE), residentes en la zona sur de Chile, en relación al uso de las baterías de evaluación del Trastorno Específico del Lenguaje (TEL). Los principales objetivos se basan en determinar si dichas herramientas están contextualizadas con las dimensiones etarias, sociales y lingüísticas; actualizadas a la cultura y temporalidad de cada niño, y si son eficaces para la evaluación de las distintas competencias lingüísticas que un niño debería tener a las edades anteriormente mencionadas. Se utilizó un estudio descriptivo, con un muestreo por bola de nieve e intencionado, permitiendo la medición de las diferentes variables. Se confeccionó un cuestionario de preguntas cerradas, considerando tres dimensiones importantes enfocadas en la percepción de los/as fonoaudiólogos/as: evaluación general, actualización y contextualización de las baterías de evaluación para el diagnóstico de TEL en Chile. Se obtuvo una muestra de 55 personas de distintas regiones de la zona sur de Chile. Se pudo concluir que las baterías de evaluación no son las más óptimas para el diagnóstico de TEL, puesto que no se han actualizado desde la creación a la fecha y no están adecuadas al contexto social ni lingüístico chileno.

We identified the perception of speech-language pathologists who work/were working in the School Integration Program (PIE), residents in the southern area of Chile, in relation to the use of the evaluation batteries for Specific Language Disorder (SLD). The main objectives are based on determining whether these tools are contextualized with the age, social and linguistic dimensions; updated to the culture and temporality of each child, and whether they are effective for the evaluation of the different linguistic competencies that a child should have at the ages mentioned above. A descriptive study was used, with snowball and purposive sampling, allowing the measurement of the different variables. A questionnaire of closed questions was prepared, considering three important dimensions focused on the perception of the speech therapists: general evaluation, updating and contextualization of the evaluation batteries for the diagnosis of SLI in Chile. A sample of 55 people from different regions of southern Chile was obtained. It was concluded that the evaluation batteries are not the most optimal for the diagnosis of SLD, since they have not been updated since their creation to date and are not adapted to the Chilean social and linguistic context.
