COVID-19 is defined as a severe or severe acute respiratory syndrome infection 2, known since 2019 as a rapidly expanding disease with a high morbidity and mortality rate, thus in 2020 confinement measures were declared for the population, the same ones that generate negative consequences for mental health, such as depression, anxiety and stress. The objective of this work is to determine the psychological impact on the administrative and teaching staff of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of Cuenca in times of the Covid-19 pandemic in the year 2022. It was based on a quantitative approach of non-experimental design. of a descriptive type that was carried out during the months of June to November 2022 with the application of the DASS 21 scale in people selected by random sampling. In addition, a personal information questionnaire was used that included: sex, age, marital status, educational level, job position, years since working in the Faculty of Medical Sciences, personal history of pathologies prior to confinement and how these evolved in Over time, a database was created for its statistical analysis in the IBM SPSS V20 program. Within the investigation, 54 people participated, 50% men and 50% women, with respect to age it is valued that between 30-39 years is where it has the highest prevalence with 43.4%, the service area with the most cases are the concierges with mild depression 33.3%. Finally, it is observed if they have a history of any mental illness, 16.2% developed mild depression and 5.4% developed moderate depression, and 70% of people with a history of stress are normal, compared to people with a history of eating disorders who are 100% developed moderate depression and 100% developed mild depression with a history of insomnia. As a conclusion, it was determined that women between 30 and 39 years of age, as well as high school graduates, have a greater psychological impact. People without previous mental illnesses presented depression, anxiety and stress to a mild degree and those with a history presented an increase to a moderate degree.
