Resumen
The aim of this research was the comparative analysis between traditional gasoline and biofuel that are subject to an additive that raises their octane number through a calorimetric bomb that evaluates the energy efficiency of the biofuel, its performance, and gas emission of an engine of the internal combustion. The study required the presence of laboratory tests that allow assessing the condition and effect of the additives, INEN regulations that are applicable in the environment, and that determine characteristics to be met by the fuels identified. The fuels used are Extra gasoline and Eco country. A comparative analysis was carried out based on viscosity, density, and calorific values. This aspect is based on road tests of a vehicle in the Guano section to Chambo, from which it was feasible to measure the volumes of fuel that have been consumed. The control of engine emissions was carried out with and without the presence of the additive. For the statistical analysis, tabulated tables were made in MINITAB that helped to compare the results between these two fuels. In the tables, we observe how each fuel differs significantly in relation to the tests carried out. It is concluded that the volume of Extra gasoline decreases in the presence of the use of additives. In the same way, in Eco-country gasoline, the degree of decline in fuel volume is similar in both cases. As well as an increase in the caloric power of fuels, gas emissions are significantly reduced. It is recommended to have a maintenance guideline, since the presence of an additive does not guarantee in any way the effective internal combustion process of a vehicle.
