The study consisted of determining the best method to graft Pinus radiata rootstocks, derived from a plantation of the company Aglomerados Cotopaxi S.A. Pine needles free of pests or diseases that have presented a good development were used, they were disinfected 15 days before grafting with Prochlolaz at 1 cc per liter and the weeds around the plant to be grafted will be separated. Four treatments determined by the type of injection that was performed were studied, these being: simple slit (T1), lateral plating (T2), terminal type (T3) and coupling or splicing (T4); for this, each treatment consisted of five spikes for grafting, with four repetitions, giving a total of 80 individuals under study. For data analysis, seizure data was collected 30 days after the start of the study and the presence of new needles was produced, comparing the data using a 5% Tukey test. At 10 days there were no differences in take, at 20 days the terminal treatment presented a lower take and at 30 days the cleft treatment presented the highest take, this being 85% while the other treatments had less than 40%. The slit graft presented higher take for the Pinus radiata species, the use of sealants is recommended to prevent the entry of fungi and bacteria.
