Resumen
The objective of the study was to dye sisal fiber (Agave americana) with different levels of amaranth flower (Amaranthus hybridus), the sisal leaves were extracted from the Guano canton, while the development of physical-mechanical tests were carried out in the laboratory of Agro-industrial Fibers of the Department of Animal Sciences of ESPOCH for 60 days. The methodology used was a completely randomized design with separation of means using the Tukey significance test at a probability of (>0.05), Kruskal Wallis test for non-parametric variables (sensory), considering a sample size of 4000 g of sisal fiber with the following treatments: (T0) vegetable aniline, (T1) 100% amaranth flower, (T2) 150% amaranth flower and (T3) 200% amaranth flower, with four replicates each. In the characterization of sisal fiber, physical and sensory properties were evaluated by descriptive statistics, obtaining the following means: length without stretching with 165.25 cm and stretched 179 cm with a diameter of 308 um, intensity of whiteness with 3.25 points, touch with 2.75 points and a brightness of 4.25. On the other hand, in the yarn dyed with amaranth flower the physical-mechanical properties such as solidity to light, percentage of elongation, resistance to tension and the sensory properties such as intensity of color, touch and softness were measured as variables. They did not present significant differences between the treatments. The economic analysis showed a higher cost benefit when applying treatment T1 corresponding to 100% amaranth flower. It was of $ 1.75. It is concluded that the best result was obtained in T1 since it presented a profit of 75%, so it is recommended to continue carrying out these procedures since a higher economic profitability is obtained.
