Resumen
The roads are works of great importance, they are the ones that determine the development of a society with activities such as tourism, food transport, commerce, communication, among many others. Its construction and its subsequent useful life depend on many aspects, including the materials used and the construction processes that are carried out. In Ecuador there are many roads that have not fulfilled their useful life and that are already in deplorable conditions, one of the many reasons why this early deterioration can occur is the handling of the binding material of the aggregates for the manufacture of the asphalt layer (AC-20). For this reason, in the present study, tests will be carried out on this material, which is used in the country for the construction of roads, it will be subjected to tests to determine its properties and different reheating actions for the manufacture of asphalt briquettes. with natural aggregates (without prior use), with milled aggregates (obtained from old and already removed pavements), and with a mixture of both, observing that the asphalt cement presents an aging that deteriorates its characteristics and makes it not be considered of good quality as it is reheated over and over again. In addition, it was possible to observe that the milled material is a viable option in terms of its reuse, presenting a stable composition seen in the state of the samples and the results obtained in the tests carried out. It can be affirmed that the study is a guide for future research that can continue comparing economic or viable areas that involve the use of these materials in the construction of new road networks, in addition to continuing with the comparison of the different states in which it can be Present the asphalt cement in a mixture.
