Adoption in Ecuador is a process that is executed in a prolonged manner, in which a series of technical aspects are analyzed before its execution, in which professionals intervene who have the responsibility to act in a technical manner; before, during and after the action is carried out, therefore, the objective of this research was to identify the actions of the Social Worker in the technical unit of adoptions of the Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion. A descriptive methodology was used, with a qualitative approach; the analytical and bibliographic method was used, consecutively the semi-structured interview technique was applied, which was conducted to the three professionals of the psychological-legal and social areas of the adoption unit of the city of Portoviejo, where the instrument was the questionnaire of questions. The population used was three professionals of the integrated technical unit of adoptions, the social worker, the psychologist and the lawyer of the legal area. Among the results obtained was that in the UTA (Adoption Technical Unit) the social worker acts in three stages: before, during and after the adoption; within this area she provides orientation, training workshops and psychosocial support in order to strengthen the family dynamics and seek the welfare of the adopted children and adolescents.The application of methodological processes by the social worker allows her to identify important factors of a family in the adoption process of a minor.La adopción en Ecuador es un proceso que se ejecuta de manera prolongada, en la cual se analizan una serie de aspectos técnicos antes de su ejecución, en la cual intervienen profesionales que tiene la responsabilidad de actual de manera técnica; antes, durante y después de realizarse la acción, por cuanto en esta investigación se planteó como objetivo Identificar las acciones del Trabajador Social en la unidad técnica de adopciones del Ministerio de Inclusión Económica y Social. Se utilizó una metodología de tipo descriptiva, con enfoque cualitativo; se utilizó el método analítico y bibliográfico, consecutivamente se aplicó la técnica de la entrevista semiestructurada, la cual se realizó a los tres profesionales de áreas psicológico-legal y social de la unidad de adopciones de la ciudad de Portoviejo, en donde el instrumento fue el cuestionario de preguntas. La población que se utilizó fue de 3 profesionales de la unidad técnica de adopciones Integrada, por la trabajadora social, la psicóloga y el abogado del área legal. Entre los resultados que se obtuvieron consta que en la UTA (Unidad Técnica de Adopciones) la trabajadora Social actúa en tres etapas que son: antes, durante y después de la adopción; dentro de esta área proporciona orientación, talleres formativos y apoyo psicosocial con la finalidad de fortalecer la dinámica familiar y buscar el bienestar de los Niños Niñas y Adolescentes adoptados. La aplicación de procesos metodológicos por la trabajadora social le permite identificar factores importantes de una familia en el proceso de adopción de un menor.
