The objective of this study was to identify the special educational needs of students withhearing impairment. For this purpose, a mixed type of research was applied, with adescriptive, analytical and bibliographic methodology that was executed for thedevelopment of the research. The survey technique was used with its survey guideinstrument. It was applied to 13 students with hearing impairment, from the variousfaculties of the Technical University of Manabi. It is concluded that hearing impairedstudents do not have a good social relationship with their classmates and teachers whenthey are in and out of class, since the difficulty of understanding their sign language is highdue to lack of knowledge, the educational need is the implementation of social integrationtechniques by teachers for the understanding of the topics and the presence of the signlanguage interpreter in class hours, because it would facilitate the understanding of boththe teacher and classmatesEste estudio utilizó como objetivo identificar las necesidades educativas especiales de losestudiantes con discapacidad auditiva, para efectos, se aplicó una investigación de tipomixta, con una metodología descriptiva, analítica y bibliográfica que ejecutó para eldesarrollo de la investigación. Se manejó la técnica de la encuesta con su instrumento guíade encuesta. se aplicó a 13 estudiantes con discapacidad auditiva, de las diversas Facultadesde la Universidad Técnica de Manabí. Se concluye que los estudiantes con discapacidadauditiva no tienen buena relación social con sus compañeros y docentes al momento deestar en las clases y fuera de ellas, ya que la dificultad de entender su lenguaje de señas esalto por la falta de conocimiento, la necesidad educativa es la ejecución de técnicas deintegración social de parte de los docentes para la comprensión de las temáticas y lapresencia de la intérprete de lengua de señas en la horas de clases, porque así facilitaría lacomprensión tanto en el docente y compañeros
