The Social Worker, due to his humanistic training, attends diverse situations indifferent societies, which allows him to have a wide intervention scenario,especially when it is related to health, so the objective of this research was toidentify the intervention of the Social Worker in IESS affiliates during the COVID-19pandemic. For which a methodology with a qualitative and quantitative approachwas used, at the level of the descriptive method, bibliographic by means of thestructured interview applied to Social Workers of the IESS, while with the affiliatesa survey was used as a technique and as an instrument the interview guide, andthe survey form, in which the population was of 80 affiliates of the IESS. Theresults showed that 85% of those surveyed responded that they use a lot theattention provided by the social worker at the IESS, while the professionalsmentioned that orienting, advising, guiding relatives of patients in terms of the careprovided by the social worker in the IESS, while the professionals mentioned thatthey use the care provided by the social worker in the IESS, In conclusion, theintervention in times of pandemic represents a challenge for social workers as animportant part of their actions, without excluding any user, it is verified that theactions carried out are close to the role of educating and encouraging users to thegood use and control of biosecurity to protect any factor that implies contagion.El Trabajador Social, por su formación humanista interviene en diversassituaciones en diferentes sociedades, lo que le permite tener un amplio escenariode intervención, y más cuando este es relacionado con salud, por lo que elobjetivo de esta investigación fue Identificar la Intervención del Trabajador Socialen los afiliados del IESS durante la pandemia por COVID -19. Para lo cual seutilizó una metodología con enfoque cualitativo y cuantitativo, a nivel del métodose utilizó el descriptivo, bibliográfico mediante la entrevista estructurada aplicada aTrabajadoras Sociales del IESS, mientras con los afiliados se utilizó como técnicauna encuesta y como instrumento la guía de entrevista, y el formulario deencuesta, en la cual la población fue de 80 afiliados del IESS. En resultados sepudo identificar con el 85 % de los encuestados quienes respondieron que utilizanmucho la atención que brinda el trabajador social en el IESS, mientras que losprofesionales mencionan que orientar, asesorar, guiar a familiares de pacientes encuanto a su estado de salud o de requerirse algún traslado cuando no sedispongan los recursos que se necesitan para la recuperación en este hospital. A modo de conclusión la Intervención en tiempos de pandemia representa undesafío para los Trabajadores Sociales como parte importante de su accionar, sinexcluir a ningún usuario, se verifica que las acciones realizadas se acercan a rolesde educar, e incentivar a usuarios al buen uso y control de bioseguridad pararesguardar cualquier factor que implique contagio.
