Resumen
El agua es uno de los recursos naturales más fundamentales y junto con el aire, la tierra y la energía constituye los cuatro recursos básicos en que se apoya el desarrollo. La importancia de la calidad del agua ha tenido un lento desarrollo. Hasta finales del siglo XIX no se reconoció el agua como origen de numerosas enfermedades infecciosas. Hoy en día, la importancia tanto de la cantidad como de la calidad del agua está fuera de toda duda.
La presente tesis que se desarrolló sedebe a la importancia de prevenir y controlar el impacto ambiental, monitoreando la calidad del agua en la planta concentradora de Mahr Túnel – Volcan, para lo cual se realizó las mediciones de monitoreopara identificar los impactos ambientales producidos por las actividades de la minera en estudio; lo que permitió identificar el estado actual del ecosistema involucrado con el proyecto en su fase de ejecución.
Es así que se implementó un programa de monitoreo de calidad del agua como una propuesta en la previsión y control de impactos ambientales y en este caso de la planta concentradora de MAHR TÚNEL-VOLCAN, determinando la situación de la calidad del agua frente a los impactos ambientales producidos por la empresa.
En resumen, según el estudio realizado respecto a la calidad de agua en las ocho estaciones mediante el monitoreo, se ha encontrado la presencia del arsénico en las estaciones: EM-501, EM-505, EM-508 y EM-509, pasando ligeramente los límites mínimos permisibles de la normativa vigente del agua.
