Evaluación de la interferencia de zinc respecto al Wolframio en un Espectrómetro de Emisión Óptica por Plasma Acoplado Inductivamente (ICP-OES) en la empresa Certemin S.A Lima-Perú

La presente monografía tiene como propósito dar a conocer la problemática que se presenta en el uso de los equipos ICP-OES para el análisis de muestras en medio ácido como es la interferencia de un elemento hacia otro debido a la cercanía o superposición de sus respectivas longitudes de onda característica que permite la identificación de cada analíto al ser ionizados/excitados en el plasma. En el problema planteado el análisis de muestras de exploración que contienen altas concentraciones de Zinc se aprecia que con el aumento progresivo de este involucra un aumento proporcional en la concentración de Wolframio dando valores falsos positivos que implica resultados incorrectos en dicho analito.
La finalidad de este trabajo es determinar la relación con la cual varía la concentración de wolframio por interferencia del zinc, para lo cual se preparó una concentración conocida de wolframio (2 mg/L) y diferentes concentraciones de zinc (0; 5; 10; 100; 200; 500 mg/L) en el medio reactivo correspondiente HCl 25% para así poder analizarlos en el ICP-OES. Una solución planteada para dicho problema es la obtención de la correlación entre ellos (ecuación de corrección) aplicable al rango de trabajo.
Los resultados experimentales que se obtuvieron en el ICP-OES para el Zinc (213.857) fueron: 0; 5,372; 10,413; 106,356; 203,362; 519,909 ppm y para el wolframio (207.912) fueron 1,92; 2,17; 218; 3,5; 4,82; 9,38 mg/L. Con estos valores se pudo sacar la ecuación de corrección y=0.014x+2.001 para determinar la verdadera concentración del analito interferido, en este caso el wolframio que fueron (1.92; 2.09; 2.03; 2.01; 1.97; 2.1013 mg/L).
