Resumen
The Thesis aims to understand the school experiences of students enrolled in a class of continued progression (8th / 9th grade) in the city of Dois Irmãos (RS). Continued progression is a well-studied topic. However, from a literature review, a gap was perceived. The main methodologies used in this research area only heard teachers and managers. Thereby, it was tried to listen to students and comprehend their school experiences. To achieve the objective, two methodological tools were mobilized. At first, a document analysis was carried out, based on Cellard (2008). For the analysis, four guiding documents for the education in the city of Dois Irmãos were selected to understand how these documents guided the practices developed within the progression classes. In a second step, comprehensive interviews based on Kaufmann (2013) were carried out. The research participants were four students, an Educator and a teacher from the school chosen to compose the analytical corpus. For the analyzes development, four categories emerged: a) “This is my chance”; b) “People know we are different”; c) “I am an average student”; d) Remote classes: “The pandemic also contributed a lot to them not being able to do it”. Thereafter, it was concluded that the experiences of students enrolled in the progression class were shown to be sometimes based on excluding practices, sometimes based on individualism and in the blaming of the students for their own school path.
