As praças de bairro no contexto da supermodernidade : um cenário de diversidade e dialética

Abstract

This research deals with a reflection on the public space of the squares and their virtuality, in the sense of strength, power. The singularities of the non-places and anthropological places of the squares of the Petrópolis neighborhood in the city of Porto Alegre stand out in the multiple meanings and interpretations that are apprehended by the observer, in order to sensitize and stimulate the community, private sectors and municipal managers, to the importance of the preservation and qualification of this public space. As well as demonstrating the importance of interdisciplinary involvement in the regeneration of squares and the possibilities of citizens' interaction with the environment, encouraging debate. It addresses issues of urban ecology, supermodernity and image as a sensitizer of socio-spatial relations. In this perspective, the research uses as methodology the qualitative bibliographical research and the dialectic in the data analysis. The general objective was to broaden the understanding of the meaning of the square within the context of growing urbanism and supermodernity from the diversity and dialectic of the place in order to qualify and preserve this public space. Through the ethnography of street and photography allied to the observation and the understanding of the lived processes were identified places full of memories and multiplication of imaginary references among the urban concentrations. The experiences of monitoring the development of a collective and project by scenarios contributed to a theoretical and critical analysis, reconciling the differences, with possible future scenarios of the squares. With this, we emphasized the reflection on the consequences and responsibilities of where the ecology is inserted in this urban context. For this, the knowledge of the sociological, urban and ecological components was sought, in the search for a better understanding of this space unit.
