Participación social y empoderamiento de la población de mujeres en el Cantón Santa Elena en el periodo 2019 – 2022

Abstract

La presencia de la mujer en la historia ecuatoriana ha sido un pilar fundamental, aunque dicha presencia ha sido invisibilizada teniendo poco protagonismo en la política. El cantón Santa Elena es uno de los 221 cantones que conforman el Ecuador, dentro de la cabecera cantonal está formada por las comunas: San Pablo, Saya, Juan Montalvo, Cerro Alto, Baños Termales de San Vicente, CerroAlto, Morillo, Río Verde, San Miguel, San Vicente y El Azúcar. La presente investigación tiene como objetivo de estudio a la población de mujeres del Cantón Santa Elena, en el cual se va a tratar su participación social y empoderamiento en el periodo 2019 - 2022, en donde se pudo identificar que aún existe algo de diferencia entre hombres y mujeres al tratar de temas políticosy su participación social dentro de cargos institucionales, a pesar de esto en este periodo se han realizado capacitaciones en donde hacen participes a esta población en emprendimientos, cursos y proyectos, además de que con el pasar de los periodos políticos se va notando la presencia de las mujeres en cargos públicos un ejemplo de eso es la representación de la mujer Santaelenense en la Asamblea Nacional. The objective of this research is to study the population of women in the Santa Elena Canton, in which their social participation and empowerment will be discussed in the period 2019 - 2022, where it was possible to identify that there is still some difference between men. and women when dealing with political issues and their social participation within institutional positions, despite this in this period training has been carried out where they make this population participate in undertakings, courses and projects, in additionto the fact that with the passing of the periods politicians are noticing the presenceof women in public office, an example of this is the representation of women from Santa Elena in the National Assembly.
