recolectando y analizando resultados destacados.
de este injerto es ilimitada The present research work focuses on the uses of xenografts through the
different surgical techniques that have been developed by professionals in the dental
field, especially in oral surgery and implantology. Xenografts are an alternative for
mandibular ridge augmentation procedures. Bone defects of the mandibular rim are
mentioned, their origin, and the ideal surgical technique to use the bone xenograft
using an adequate management guaranteeing favorable results in the patient.
Therefore, the objective was to describe the techniques to use bone xenograft in
mandibular rim defects. The methodology of this research is bibliographic, using the
analytical-synthetic, historical-logical, deductive, and descriptive methods. A
bibliographic review of articles and scientific sources, books, and repositories were
carried out, collecting and analyzing outstanding results. As a result, bone xenografts
are an excellent alternative to recover the width and height, vertically and horizontally
the defective mandibular rims, therefore the soft tissues, thanks to its
osteoconductivity allows it to be an important pillar for the formation of bone tissue,
this process is characterized by colonizing the graft, with blood vessels and
osteoprogenitor cells belonging to the recipient area, reabsorbs the graft, allows the
formation of new bone tissue. In conclusion, the bone xenograft presents
osteoconductive properties and biocompatibility; for this reason, it is Gold Standard in
surgical treatments for tissue augmentation; the formation of new bone tissue is
predictable, the presence of hydroxyapatite facilitates its manipulation and the
obtaining of this graft is unlimited
