Diagnostico diferencial de la estomatitis sub protésica

Abstract

La estomatitis sub protésica es una lesión bucal propiamente de la mucosa oral caracterizada por su ubicación y etiología que por lo general ocurre en pacientes portadores de prótesis dentales removibles, se la diferencia de otros tipos de estomatitis como: estomatitis aftosa, estomatitis herpética y estomatitis angular, la estomatitis sub protésica es una enfermedad inflamatoria que presenta alteraciones con mayor frecuencia en la zona del paladar duro, su diagnóstico será de vital importancia para diferenciarla de otras lesiones orales o identificar el grado de afectación que presenta, para esto se requiere de un examen clínico exhaustivo donde se observará cada detalle de la mucosa oral. Objetivo: Identificar el diagnóstico diferencial de la estomatitis sub protésica. Metodología: El método de investigación es descriptivo, explicativo y de revisión bibliográfica. Resultados: La estomatitis sub protésica se produce por factores como la mala higiene bucal, alergia al material de confección, factores dietéticos, infección micótica y factores sistémicos, afectando en mayor porcentaje al sexo femenino. Conclusión: Este tipo de lesión se presenta en la mucosa oral mediante áreas eritematosas situadas en zonas específicas de soporte tras el uso de las prótesis dentales removibles, la misma que dibuja el contorno de la base de la prótesis.

Sub prosthetic stomatitis is a mouth lesion properly of the oral mucosa characterized by its location and etiology that usually occurs in patients wearing removabledental prostheses, it is differentiated from other types of stomatitis such as: aphthous stomatitis, herpetic stomatitis and angular stomatitis, sub prosthetic stomatitis is an inflammatory disease that presents alterations more frequently in the hard palate area, its diagnosis will be of vital importance to differentiate it from other oral lesions or identify the degree of affectation it presents, for this it is required an exhaustive clinical examination where every detail of the oral mucosa will be observed. Objective: To identify the differential diagnosis of sub prosthetic stomatitis. Methodology: The research method is descriptive, explanatory and literature review. Results: Subprosthetic stomatitis is caused by factors such as poor oral hygiene, allergy to the preparation material, dietary factors, fungal infection and systemic factors, affecting the female sex in a higher percentage. Conclusion: This type of lesion is presented in the oral mucosa by erythematous areas located in specific areas of support after the use of removable dental prostheses, the same that draws the contour of the base of the prosthesis.
