Diagnostico manejo y tratamiento de la estomatitis protésica

Abstract

La estomatitis protésica es una lesión inflamatoria que se presenta con frecuencia en pacientes que son rehabilitados con aparatologías acrílicas removibles, esta patología bucal es causada por la interacción de múltiples factores dentro la cavidad bucal. El objetivo del presente trabajo de investigación es conocer las manifestaciones clínicas y el tratamiento de la estomatitis protésica. Es un trabajo de revisión sistemática bibliográfica, de diseño cualitativo, documental, exploratorio, con metodología teórica inductiva-deductiva e histórico-lógico. Los resultados obtenidos señalan que las manifestaciones clínicas van en dependencia del grado de desarrollo y gravedad de lesión, es decir comienza desde pequeñas áreas hipertérmicas localizadas hasta lesiones eritematosas que dibujan los límites de una prótesis, pudiendo aparecer proyecciones papilares que dan un aspecto rugoso en el paladar duro, la estomatitis tipo I presenta una prevalencia del 75%, seguida del tipo II con 25%. En base a toda la información investigada de artículos científicos, estudios clínicos y libros puedo concluir que aún existe controversia acerca del factor causal de la estomatitis protésica, sin embargo, el uso de una prótesis removible desajustada, higiene deficiente, el no descanso de la mucosa e ingerir medicamentos que producen xerostomía contribuyen al desarrollo de esta patología, mientras que las características clínicas varían de acuerdo a su grado de severidad, esta patología inicialmente se puede visualizar desde pequeños puntos eritematosos, hasta una llegar a una fase de inflamación granular, afectando el paladar duro y los bordes alveolares.

Prosthetic stomatitis is an inflammatory lesion that is present frequently in patients who are rehabilitated with removable acrylic devices, this oral pathology is caused by the interaction of multiple factors within the oral cavity. The objective of this research work is to discover the clinical manifestations and the treatment of prosthetic stomatitis. It is a work of systematic bibliographic review, qualitative, documental, exploratory design, with inductive-deductive and historical-logical theoretical methodology. The results obtained indicate that the clinical manifestations depending on the degree of development and the severity of the lesion, decirating from small localized hyperthermic areas to erythematous lesions that divulge the limits of a prosthesis, which may appear prone to projecting a papillary aspect Hard palate, type I stomatitis has a prevalence of 75%, followed by type II with 25%. Based on all the information investigated from scientific articles, clinical studies and books, it was possible to conclude that there is no controversy about the causal factor of prosthetic stomatitis, however, the use of an inadequate removable prosthesis, poor hygiene, and the resting of the mucosa and ingesting drugs that produce xerostomia contributing to the development of this pathology, while the clinical characteristics vary from one to another of severity, this pathology can initially be visualized from small erythematous spots, until reaching a phase of granular inflammation, affecting hard palate and alveolar edges
