Sistema Lingual como tratamiento alternativo frente a los diferentes tipos de Ortodoncia

Abstract

Actualmente existen un sin número de tratamientos ortodónticos invisibles, esto ha sido posible con la ayuda de la tecnología, a la investigación, y desarrollo de nuevas técnicas. Hoy en día acuden pacientes adultos a la consulta odontológica en busca de nuevos tratamientos de aparatología fija que sea imperceptible a la vista humana. Es por eso que se ha implementado el sistema lingual, esta técnica consiste en posicionar los brackets por la cara lingual de los dientes, dejando a las superficies vestibulares libres de aditamentos para tratar no solo la estética, sino también las maloclusiones, que el paciente necesite. Objetivo: Describir el sistema lingual como tratamiento alternativo frente a los diferentes tipos de ortodoncia. Metodología: el tipo de investigación fue documental, bibliográfico, descriptivo, analítico y sintético, con el fin de obtener información de diversas fuentes científicas del sistema lingual y sus técnicas. Resultados: La aplicación del sistema lingual como método alternativo para la corrección de los diferentes tipos de maloclusiones tiene grandes resultados sobre todo en los movimientos de expansión, protrusión, extrusión molar e intrusión lingual. Conclusión: El sistema lingual ha demostrado ser una técnica muy eficaz para corregir los diferentes tipos maloclusiones con éxito, conservando la estética del paciente. Currently there are a number of invisible orthodontic treatments, this has been possible with the help of technology, research and development of new techniques. Nowadays, adult patients come to the dental office in search of new fixed appliance treatments that are imperceptible to the human eye. This is why the lingual system has been implemented, a technique that consists of placing all the brackets on the lingual side of the teeth, leaving the vestibular surfaces free of attachments to treat not only esthetics, but also the malocclusions that the patient needs. Objective: To describe the lingual system as an alternative treatment to the different types of orthodontics. Methodology: The type of research was documentary, bibliographic, descriptive, analytical and synthetic, in order to obtain information from various scientific sources on the lingual system and its techniques. Results: The application of the lingual system as an alternative method for the correction of different types of malocclusions has great results especially in the movements of expansion, protrusion, molar extrusion and lingual intrusion. Conclusion: The lingual system has proven to be a very effective technique to successfully correct different types of malocclusions while preserving the esthetics of the patient.
