Fracasos clínicos y mecánicos de carillas directas

Abstract

Las piezas dentarias del sector antero superior son las más importantes al momento de sonreír ya que son los que se muestran al mundo en cada sonrisa, motivo por el cual resulta de gran importancia que cualquier restauración que se realice cumpla con la estética, morfología y funcionalidad de toda pieza dental, es de mucha importancia saber que las carillas directas son las que consisten en la aplicación en la cara frontal del diente de un material restaurador de resinas compuestas de alta estética, que permite mejorar la forma, tamaño, proporción y color de los dientes para conseguir una sonrisa más atractiva. El objetivo del presente estudio fue determinar causas de los fracasos clínicos y mecánicos de carillas directas, se realizó un estudio a 160 alumnos de decimo semestre de la Facultad Piloto de Odontología de la Universidad de Guayaquil, para analizar las causas de fracasos de carillas directas mediante la aplicación de una encuesta, concluyendo que el nivel de conocimiento de los estudiantes encuestados es alto, el principal detonante de fracasos en la elaboración de carillas es el poco acceso o poca visibilidad del campo operatorio, siendo igualmente importante el nivel de humedad de la pieza dentaria, ya que fracasos de carillas elaboradas sobre dientes secos es la segunda causa de fracasos en carillas directas.

The teeth of the upper antero sector are the most important at the time of smiling since they are the ones that are shown to the world in each smile, which is why it is of great importance that any restoration that is carried out complies with aesthetics, morphology and functionality of every dental piece. It is very important to know that dental veneers are those that consist of the application on the front face of the tooth of a resin restorative material composed of high aesthetics which facilitate the improvement of shape, size, proportion and color of the teeth to achieve a more attractive smile. The objective of this study is to determine the causes of the clinical and mechanical failures of direct veneers. A study was carried out in 160 students of the tenth semester of the Pilot School of Dentistry of the University of Guayaquil. To analyze the causes of failures of direct veneers, a survey was administered concluding that the level of knowledge of the students surveyed is high. The main trigger for failures in the development of veneers is the poor access or poor visibility of the operative field, the level of humidity of the dental piece being equally important, since veneers failures made on dry teeth is the second cause of failures in direct veneers.
