Bi-level positive airway pressure in septic patients with nosocomial
pneumonia. “Andrew Christian Yunga Quimi the 4er year career
respiratory therapy. Guayaquil State University School of Medical
Technology.
Patients with Pneumonia problem is that when ICU admission in a lose 48
hours may acquire sepsis, therefore the objective to be achieved is to
decrease the work of breathing and decrease the pCO2 and at the same
time prevent episodes of severe dyspnea.
The tools used such as observation and surveys were very important in
this research because it helped discover main reasons that impair a
patient's life , the bi-level positive airway pressure is a noninvasive
mechanical ventilation which is used exclusively to patients with
respiratory failure since we have shown that NIV may be the first choice
for a patient with pneumonia but with the respective guard professional in
respiratory therapy as it has technological tools to help patients reduce the
work of breathing . This mode of noninvasive ventilation is to have a
positive air pressure in the airway in centimeters of water above
atmospheric pressure and leave the patient spontaneously breathing The
purpose of conducting the fieldwork had a boom in such patients, which
the purpose of better stability of life of the person is fulfilled, the positive
effects are avoided intubation, decreases morbidity cup and lower cost for
the patient. Application of this ventilatory mode leaves feeling acceptable
to the patient and can provide a better lifestyle through better gas
exchange.
The results were not acceptable due to the reason that when a patient is
to wean him then apply the BiPAP for which in some cases patients
returned to decompensate so we returned again to the fan plug.
In conclusion chooses to manage the patient with a pressure more often,
talk VPAP as this mode could observe and draw conclusion that the
patient if he said so went ahead.
