Tratamiento quirúrgico de torus mandibular utilizando la técnica de pimpollo

Abstract

Los torus o exostosis óseas se consideran excrecencias no neoplásicas, las cuales se localizan en los maxilares, proveniente del mismo hueso. Se presenta el caso de una paciente con torus mandibular bilateral con antecedentes de tener molestias en su fonética, en la limpieza por el tamaño del torus y por dolor leve en el piso de la boca. Los huesos maxilares son parte de la estructura esquelética corporal por lo cual no son ajenos a las patologías que se presentan en ella. Algunas guardan semejanza entre sí, otras son muy singulares por sus características patognomónicas, por ejemplo, los torus palatinos, los torus mandibulares, y las exostosis de los maxilares. El propósito del presente trabajo es la rehabilitación bucal del paciente tomando en cuenta todos los factores quirúrgicos y prostodoncicos la elección de la técnica quirúrgica que en el presente caso fue la técnica quirúrgica del pimpollo, se irrigó el torus con suero fisiológico para evitar la necrosidad ósea. Los resultados obtenidos después de la técnica quirúrgica son satisfactorios, la cirugía fue un éxito, en la actualidad la paciente está en su recuperación total, sin presentar problemas en su fonética, ni de limpieza ni de dolor. Se logró la rehabilitación bucal total.
