dc.descriptionThe article describes the situation of agriculture, forestry and animal husbandry technical high schools (EMTPs in Spanish) in terms of infrastructure and academic situation. A social survey was applied to 10 of the 13 schools that corresponded to this type of high school in the Region de Los Ríos to characterize the technical agricultural high school education in the region. The high schools that were studied have 2,340 students in total. Fifty one percent are men and 49% women. Currently, 3,085 people have graduated in the last four years. The oldest schools (average 32 years old) are located in the communities of Lanco (2 schools), Valdivia, Mariquina and Futrono. A total of 330 professionals work in training and education in the Region de Los Ríos’ EMTPs. The studied schools have a complementary theoretical-practical high school cycle of education through a Dual Program. The curricula have little flexibility and there are an insufficient number of teachers for the number of active students. The infrastructure requires improvement, especially for recreational activities.en-US
dc.description  El artículo describe la situación de los liceos de Educación Media Técnico Profesional (EMTP), analizando las variables: infraestructura y situación académica. Para caracterizar la educación media técnico profesional silvoagropecuaria en la Región de Los Ríos, se aplicó una encuesta estática a 10 de los 13 establecimientos que constituyen el universo de liceos de este tipo, en la Región. Los Liceos analizados cuentan con un total de 2.340 estudiantes, de los cuales un 51% son hombres y un 49% mujeres y en los últimos cuatro años se han graduado 3.085 personas. En las comunas de Lanco (2 liceos), Valdivia, Mariquina y Futrono se encuentran los establecimientos más antiguos, con un promedio de existencia de 32 años. Un total de 330 profesionales se dedican a la formación y educación en los liceos de EMTP de la Región de Los Ríos. Los establecimientos analizados cuentan con el ciclo de enseñanza media, en una modalidad teórico-práctico que incorpora períodos de trabajo en predios del sistema Dual. Los planes de estudio se caracterizan por ser poco flexibles y la planta docente insuficiente para el número de estudiantes activos. La infraestructura, requiere fortalecimiento, principalmente para actividades recreacionales.  es-ES
