Resumen
The universe of samba is the major concern of this chapter which aims to discuss the artists of samba as well as the places where they composed and improvised it. From this discussion, we give prominence to the collective creation and certain particular places which were responsible for the enshrinement of samba in Rio de Janeiro, not only as the both musical genre and group identity but also as a nation identity later. Thus, our work deals with intangible heritage concerning to samba, through an analysis on the different forms of musical expression, their relevance to certain groups and to the former federal capital in such singular historical and cultural period and, consequently, their contribution to the construction of the samba matrices of Rio de Janeiro.
