Resumen
The history of educational radio and the history of radio in Brazil are partly coincident. Since the 1920s, a theoretical concept of emphasis on the role of this media for education has been consolidated. Gradually, this perspective has been transformed and educational radio has come to be seen as important for the critical formation and the construction of citizenship. However, these theoretical concepts are not always consistent with the real situation. This article evaluates the educational radio scenario, based on the analysis of the programs of 380 stations in operation in the country.
