Resumen
To reduce the environmental and social impacts caused by motor vehicles, policies for sustainable
urban mobility have been encouraged. Since the modal cycle is an alternative to traffic problems,
this study aims to develop a network of cycle routes for the Campus Viçosa of the Universidade
Federal de Viçosa. The methodology consisted in recognizing the place of study, analyzing the
current regulations and conducting the target classification of vehicles. The cycle infrastructure
adopted were the bike lanes and bike paths, which were justified by the volumetric counting of
vehicles and guidelines of the standards. It is believed that with the implementation of the project,
the number of cyclists increases and consequently there is a reduction in the use of motor vehicles.
Finally, it is expected to reduce the emission of pollution gases in the environment, increase the
fluidity of vehicular traffic and improve the quality of life for users.
